2030 Outlook

The MENTOR LIST invited me to be their 33rd guest.

We expected the chat would be for 35 minutes, but it was close to an hour.

We covered a lot, and this blog summarises some of it but probably doesn’t do it justice - here is the link.

Below is an outlook to 2030!

📶 Digital Landscape Dramatically Changed

In 2020, digital products and services increased from 35% to 55%, which McKinsey forecasted would take seven years. Customer interactions increased from 36% to 58%, which was expected to take three years. These trends have continued, and many organisations now have good to exceptional-quality data.

🔏 Enhancing Data Privacy and Cybersecurity

Data privacy and security are non-negotiable. We explored the link to emerging technology and business. No other time has seen a greater need to balance strategic technology investments, to leverage data with the balance of security.

🚨 Data Governance and AI Strategy

We discussed the importance of strong data governance for effective AI implementation. Clean, reliable data is the foundation of any AI strategy, and transparency is vital for building trust. Ethical governance is essential to ensure AI systems operate without compromising integrity.

🤖 Leveraging Technology and AI

We discussed the significance of hyper-automation, which allows businesses to focus on strategic goals by eliminating non-essential tasks. AI can improve productivity, but it should also be used to drive innovation and support long-term business objectives.

🤔 Navigating Career Development and Leadership

In an era of rapid technological change, all of us will evolve. I shared insights on fostering and balancing technology decisions with emotional intelligence. Effective leaders know how to integrate both to inspire their teams through change.

🎓 Life Lessons and Personal Growth

Drawing from Positive Psychology, particularly Dr. Martin Seligman’s PERMA model, we discussed the value of focusing on Positive Emotion, Engagement, Relationships, Meaning, and Accomplishment. This approach helps individuals live fuller, more meaningful lives, building resilience and well-being.

❤️ Embracing a Humanistic Approach in Technology

Finally, I stressed the need for a humanistic lens in technological innovation. As we embrace AI and automation, empathy, ethics, and emotional intelligence must remain central. By balancing innovation with humanity, we can lead richer, more fulfilling lives in the digital world.

The chat integrated much of my latest research on 2030 Tech Trends, plus some of the most well-received content from my workshops and keynotes.
